The client
15 years of asking why braids kept damaging her hair.
Braids & Co was founded on a personal frustration: years of breakage, scalp irritation, and traction alopecia that no haircare routine seemed to fix. The real cause turned out to be the synthetic braiding fibre itself, worn against the scalp for weeks at a time, often with no visibility into what it's actually made of.
That search led to a small set of brands rethinking the fibre from scratch: hypoallergenic, plastic-free, and tested rather than assumed safe. Braids & Co exists to bring those brands together in one place, so customers don't have to run the same 15-year search themselves.
Rankxi built the Shopify storefront that makes that curation work commercially: several brands' catalogs unified into one browsing and checkout experience, with the trust signals (tested, hypoallergenic, plastic-free) built into the design itself.
